Mancos- Dolores Ranger District

ACCESS: Travel north of Mancos on Colo. Hwy 184 for .2 mi. and turn east onto the W. Mancos Rd (FS Rd. #561). Go 14 mi. and turn right on Spruce Mill Road (FS Rd. #350). Continue about 6 mi., veering right on a narrow road (FS Rd #346) towards Twin Lakes and Sharkstooth Trialhead. Use 4-wheel-drive for the last 1 mi. and follow signs to the trailhead.

DIRECTIONS: This trial joins the Highline National Recreation Trail (part of the Colorado Trail) at Bear Creek. The trail begins in a mixed conifer forest and climbs to a rock field above timberline. A side loop 1.5 mi. from the trailhead explores the historic Windy Williams Mine. The last 2.8 mi. drops into the Bear Creek drainage.
