ACCESS: Travel 18 mi. north of Bayfield on CR 501 beyond Vallecito Reservoir. After passing the west side of the reservoir, watch for the Forest Service Work Center about a mile north. Parking is available on the right at the trail sign to a small pull-off on your right.

DIRECTIONS: The trail (marked #668 on the SJNF Recreation Map) lies within the Weminuche Wilderness. Motorized vehicles and mountain bikes are not allowed. Portions are steep with many switchbacks. It passes through aspen forests to the shallow lake covered by water lilies in a small depression surrounded by aspen trees. The lake is not stocked with fish.
