Mancos - Dolores Ranger District

ACCESS: Travel north of Mancos on Colo. Hwy 184 for .2 mi. and turn east onto the W. Mancos Rd. (FS Rd. #561). Go 10 mi. to the Transfer Campground. The trailhead, which is shared with the Mancos Trail, is on your right, directly across from the campground.

DIRECTIONS: The trail passes through ponderosa pine, oak and aspen stands to a viewing platform overlooking the W. Mancos Canyon. horses, mountain bikes and motorized vehicles not allowed. The easily graded gravel trail offers spectacular views of the La Plata Mountains. Benches are provided along the way.
