As of December 2002, The Cost of Living Index (COLI) for the State of Colorado was recorded at 1.00% with the Cost of Living Index (COLI) for La Plata County being recorded at 0.990%.

The below table shows county median household income adjusted by the cost of living index, to estimate actual median purchasing power in the local economy. This result is only suggestive and demonstrates how incomes could be normalized using costs.
