Completed in June of 2006, Mercy Regional Medical Center is the largest and most technologically advanced hospital in Southwest Colorado. More than 130 board-certified physicians on the hospital’s medical staff provide care in 34 medical specialties, including 24-hour walk-in emergency care, intensive care, orthopedic surgery, spine surgery, cardiology, and more. Southwest Colorado Mental Health Center:
Southwest Colorado Mental Health Center offers complete psychiatric services for the Durango area. This facility has professional mental health workers as well as a staff psychiatrist and psychiatric nurse. Services include:

The center offers help for the bulemic, anorexic and the disease of obesity. This facility has a complete program and capable staff led by a clinical psychologist to treat these illnesses and others.

Assisted Living

Four Corners Health Care Center is a skilled nursing facility located in Durango. There are private-pay, medicaid-licensed beds for all levels of care including a special Alzheimers Care Center. There are also medicare beds and inpatient and outpatient therapy services at the facility. Four Corners Health Care Center provides physical, occupational and speech therapy services. Sunshine Gardens West Senior Assisted Living is a 64-bed assisted living facility for the elderly. Sunshine Gardens West offers private apartments for 16 and semi-private settings for 30 residents. Meals are offered on a daily or weekly basis.

Housekeeping and laundry services are also provided. The secure Alzheimers wing for 18 residents includes full support services. Independent living villas are also available.

The Sunshine Gardens West Quality Care Center will open a 26-bed facility in the spring of 2001. It will offer private rooms and quality skilled nursing.
