Durango, CO. --The Tour of Durango mountain bike and trail running event launch party will take place on Thursday, June 5 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Carver’s Brewing Company.
Sponsored by Alpine Bank, the Tour of Durango is a weekend long event held on October 11 and 12, 2008 to showcase the interconnectivity and proximity of the local trail network and to encourage etiquette and sharing of Durango’s spectacular local trails.
The first day of the event, October 11 includes a competitive mountain bike and trail running event(s) that will start and finish at Three Springs. October 12 is the Tour that will begin on the Animas River Trail, and hit all local trailheads in town. The event concludes with a block party on Main Street in front of Alpine Bank and Carver’s Brewing. Bikers and runners are invited to form teams or enter individually for the “Tour of Durango ”.
“We’re so proud to work with two premier local non profits and provide an opportunity for the entire community to compete and tour our local trails. The event will be fun for all complete with a party downtown on Main Street, “ according to Beth Drum, marketing director for Alpine Bank.
See the unveiling of the course and be one of the first to sign up for the Tour of Durango on June 5th at 4:00 pm at Carver’s. (Online Registration will be available thru Active.com on June 6th.) |
