DURANGO, Colo. - Climbers or those who just get a thrill from watching gripping outdoor adventure films are invited to join the Durango climbing community for one of two evenings at the Abbey Theatre for the third annual REEL ROCK Tour, Sept. 16 and 17, 2008.
Presented locally by Osprey Packs and Backcountry Experience at the Abbey Theatre, the Durango REEL ROCK screenings will feature first ascents of the Grand Canyon, some of the worlds most difficult bouldering in South Africa, climbing in the UK, an excerpt from the new feature “The Aerialist,” exploring the many talents of Dean Potter, and Sender Films’ new feature production “The Sharp End.”
Tickets are available in advance at Backcountry Experience and the Abbey for $10. Admission at the door is $12 and all viewers will receive a prize ticket and a chance to win the new Variant 28 Backpack from Osprey Packs and exciting gifts from Backcountry Experience. Proceeds from the evening’s festivities will benefit the San Juan Mountain Association.
Doors to the Abbey open on Sept. 16 at 6 p.m., and 8:25 p.m. on Sept. 17.
