DURANGO (April 9, 2008)— Maria’s Bookshop at 960 Main Avenue in Durango is proud to host a new event in conjunction with the Durango Arts Center’s Creativity Festivity, a month-long celebration of kids and the arts.  From 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, April 21st, there will be a reception for the winners of this year’s Creativity Festivity writing contest, The Writer’s Eye.  Local students in kindergarten through 12th grade will be on hand, reading their award-winning poems, essays and short stories, created in response to visual pieces selected by art specialists from Durango public schools.

Maria’s Bookshop will also serve as a gallery space for student artwork submitted to Creativity Festivity throughout the month of April.
